Threshold Support — [Brief Description]
What To Include
When reporting a problem, please include as much of the following information as you can:
- Your iPhone model
- Your iOS version
- Your Threshold app version
- The feature or screen involved
- The selected Session and Area, if relevant
- Whether the issue occurred during capture, review, or export
- What you expected to happen
- What happened instead
- The steps that reproduce the issue
- Any error message shown
- Whether the issue occurs every time or only sometimes
- Whether the device had just been rotated, returned from Settings, or resumed from the background
Screenshots can be helpful when they do not contain information you prefer to keep private.
Please do not send private investigation recordings, photos, videos, location details, or other evidence unless they are necessary for the support request and you are comfortable sharing them.
Common Support Topics
Permissions
Threshold may need camera, microphone, Photos, Files, motion, or sensor access for specific features. Permissions can be reviewed in:
iPhone Settings → Apps → Threshold
Video Capture requires both Camera and Microphone access. If either permission is denied, Threshold shows the missing permission and provides an Open Settings action. If both are denied, Camera access is addressed first.
After returning from Settings, the Video Capture status screen updates to any permission that is still missing and keeps an Open Settings button available.
Camera Or Microphone Unavailable
If the current device or environment does not provide an available camera or microphone, Threshold shows a non-recordable status screen instead of active-looking recording controls.
Close the capture screen and try again on a supported device or after the unavailable hardware condition has cleared.
Magnetic Calibration
Rotating the device can and will briefly recalibrate magnetic sensing. During this settling period, supported Threshold interfaces may display CALIBRATING. Live readings resume after the device settles.
Threshold suppresses rotation-related spikes from saved audio and video magnetic timelines.
Magnetic Activity Unavailable
Some devices and simulator environments do not provide a usable magnetometer. Threshold continues recording, capturing, saving, and reviewing evidence without magnetic context. No false magnetic timeline or snapshot data is created.
Magnetic Timelines And Snapshots
On supported devices, EVP Audio and Video Capture can save synchronized magnetic timelines. Rapid Photo Capture and Motion Camera can save a magnetic snapshot when a valid reading is available at the capture moment.
Older evidence, imported media, unsupported devices, and captures made while a valid reading was unavailable may not show a magnetic strip or snapshot pill. The evidence remains fully usable.
Session Export
Threshold Pro Session exports can include Session and Area details, copied media files, markers, Motion Camera metadata, Spirit Box run data, synchronized audio and video magnetic timelines, and photo or Motion Camera magnetic snapshots when available.
Missing magnetic fields are normal for older evidence, imported media, unsupported devices, and captures without a valid sensor reading.
Purchases and Restore Purchases
Threshold Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled through the Apple App Store.
If you previously purchased Threshold Pro with the same Apple Account, open Threshold Pro and select Restore Purchases.
You will not be charged again for a successful restoration of the same non-consumable purchase.
Evidence and Local Storage
Threshold stores investigation content locally on the device. This can include captured media, Session and Area information, markers, magnetic timelines, and magnetic snapshots when available.
Deleting evidence, deleting a Session, deleting the app, or erasing app data may permanently remove locally stored content.
Export important investigation content before deleting it when you wish to preserve a separate copy.
